Kupwara, May 01(KNO): Six more contacts of COVID-19 patients have tested positive for novel coronavirus in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, taking the total number of positive to 55.
Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that six more from Gonipora have tested positive for novel coronavirus.
They said that all the fresh cases are contacts of earlier positive patients falling under red zone ITI Handwara. Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg informed that 6 more have tested positive from Gonipora falling in Red Zone ITI Handwara, all contacts of earlier positive cases and are asymptomatic.
"Primary contacts are being isolated for sampling tomorrow. Aggressive tracing and testing to be taken up in the Red Zone to break the chain," he said.
He said two more patients have recovered taking the total number of recoveries to 21. "Total number of active cases for Kupwara are now 34."—(KNO)
