Awantipora: Awantipora police on Monday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered one kilogram charas from their possession.
SDPO Awantipora Ajaz Ahmad Choudary has said that a naka was laid by the police at RH canal crossing in PD Awantipora, in which a Creta vehicle under registration JK03H 8526 was intercepted.
He said that "during the search of vehicle, one kg charas was recovered" from the two persons namely Ishfaq Amin Bhat & Yawar Ahamd Dar, residents of Chersoo area in Awantipora.
"Both the drug peddlers were arrested & the vehicle they were travelling in were also seized by the police," he said.
Meanwhile, a case under relevent sections of law registered at PS Awantipora and investigation started.
Awantipora police have requested the general public to cooperate with them in curbing drug menace.
