Kulgam labourers stranded in HP without food, shelter urge Govt for evacuation

Kulgam, Apr 23 (KNO): Hundreds of labours from south Kashmir district of Kulgam who are stranded in Himachal Pradesh have said that they are without food and shelter there.

Talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), over phones the stranded labours said that they belong to tribal areas of Damhal Hanjipora of Kulgam district and are stranded in forests of Himachal Pradesh without any food and shelter.

They said that they are living without any shelter and are unable to sleep due to the threat of wild animals in the area.

“Whatever we earned, we have spent it all and are now without essential commodities and we fear we will die of hunger here,” said a labour among them. They said that temperature has also risen and they are unable to bear it as they don't have any shelter and they will die if the government didn’t evacuate them.

Meanwhile families of stranded labours are also worried about their well-being and have urged the government to facilitate their return—(KNO)
