COVID-19: Four more tested positive, toll reaches 41 in Kupwara

Kupwara, Apr 23 (KNO): Four more contacts of earlier positive patients from Anderhama area in north Kashmir's Kupwara district have tested positive for novel coronavirus taking total number of positive cases in the remote district to 41 on Thursday.

An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that four more contacts of earlier positive patients from containment zone Anderhama have tested positive.

He said with fresh four COVID patients the total number in the same red zone has mounted to 21 witnessing a surge in number after it reported first case on April 9.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg told KNO that four more positives from Red Zone Anderhama, all contacts of earlier positive patients.

However, other 84 samples have tested negative thus completing testing process in all the other 6 Red Zones of the district except Anderhama where contact tracing and testing will continue. He said the total number of Active cases for Kupwara stands at 35 now.

Pertinently, in entire Kupwara district so far 41 people have tested positive for novel coronavirus of which 6 recovered so far no fatal report, taking oral active cases to 35 while the number showed surge in only single containment zone with no cases from other 6 red zones besides that the officials said the testing and tracing will continue in Anderhama village—(KNO)
