Srinagar, Apr 23 (KNO): A day ahead of holy month Ramadhan, the residents of Usman Aabad Malbagh area of Srinagar are facing acute water scarcity from last four days, causing immense hardships to them.

The residents while talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) accused the Public Health Engineering (PHE) of ignoring their plight, saying that the department has failed to provide adequate water supply to them.

“As the lockdown is enforced in Jammu and Kashmir and people have been advised to stay indoors, the PHE is forcing them to come out and fetch water from outside to quench the thirsty. Thus, simultaneously not only leaving us to suffer, but also pushing us risk our lives,” Zahid Ahmad Khan, a resident from the area said.

The resident of the area appealed the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar to look into the matter. Meanwhile, an official of the PHE department said that they have not received any such complaint from the area. However, he said, they will look into the matter—(KNO)
